The scenography of a play is thus to take into account the decoration of the floors, walls and ceilings, so that the atmosphere is as real as possible.

The flooring of a play is an element that must not be neglected during the preparation of the decor. In order to allow you to create an atmosphere as close as possible to the reality of the historical context, for example, or the location of the play, you can choose from many references of flooring, from the dance floor mat to the needle-punched or glitter carpet to the plain vinyl or imitation waxed concrete flooring, pavement, stone, mirror, turf, etc., regardless of the type of decor you want to install, you are sure to find the product you need. THE STAGE FABRICS FOR YOUR THEATRE DECORATIONS
Curtains, chair covers, costumes, etc., for the decoration of the play and the costumes, you can choose from a vast collection of fabrics and textiles of different materials, weights, etc. Velour, satin, tulle, Lycra, fireproof, blackout or acoustic fabric, our offer includes all the materials you need to create a quality stage decor.
In the theatre, CTN's offer concerns in particular the backcloths, these very large hangings intended to surround the stage, on the sides and at the bottom. In particular, they will be used to hide what is behind the scene. The role of the backcloths is also to prevent backstage light from entering the stage. Finally, they have a role of sound insulation. Their thickness is ideal for theatres, and makes it possible to absorb the noises that occur outside the stage. These backcloths are distinguished from the curtains that separate the stage from the public, whose role serves in particular for the different changes of scenery between two acts, for example. It is also these thick pleated canvas curtains that open at the beginning of the show and close at the end. Traditionally luxurious and of high quality, stage curtains are often covered with red or black velvet.
Much lighter and more aerial, the stage tulle marketed by CTN has a very different purpose. As much as the thickness of the stage curtains and the backcloths has the primary purpose of masking, the fineness of the tulle is on the contrary intended to reveal. Light is thus reflected by this transparent fabric when it comes from the front or the sides, and the back area remains in the dark. This veil then seems opaque. You can even project images on it. Conversely, the light passes through it when it comes from the back. Thanks to this double property, technicians and other graphic designers manage to produce amazing lighting effects. The superposition of two layers of tulle also makes it possible to achieve highly aesthetic moiré effects. For those whose shows require images or films to be projected, CTN also offers projection and back-projection canvases. These canvases, classified as fire M1, can be supplied in rolls or by linear metre.
SERVICES FOR THEATRE PROFESSIONALS
Show venues, and in particular theatres, frequently have special needs and requests. This creative and artistic universe is not that of large-scale production or that of ready-made solutions. Each decor is unique and cannot be reproduced over and over again, from one theatre to another. To meet the specific requirements of this universe, CTN has developed a tailoring service that makes it possible to meet these expectations as faithfully as possible. CTN can thus produce customised stage curtains, backcloths and tulles.
The company has its own sewing workshop, thanks to which all requests are met. This is the surest way for our customers to get exactly what they want. Thus, for stage curtains and backcloths, it is generally necessary to produce finishes in the upper and lower parts. At the top, you can choose to place eyelets, knots, or choose the curtain tape and staples duo. For curtains that are not intended to be handled, it is also possible to use Velcro. A simple and fast solution, perfect for fixed curtains, which, for example, hide sections of wall. As for the lower part of the curtains, it may suffice to make a simple hemline, called a clean hem, which allows the curtain to be finished and prevents it from unravelling. In some cases, however, it is necessary to weight the curtain, by installing a ballast cord in the hem. It is even sometimes necessary to use a ballast bar. A sheath must then be sewn to the bottom of the curtain, into which the bar is then slid.
In addition, CTN offers a digital printing service for floor coverings and textiles. Thanks to this technology, theatre managers can have anything they wish printed on fabrics or floor coverings, especially made for a given play. They can also, why not, print what they want on their stage curtain.
WITH CTN RECYCLING, CTN IS COMMITTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT
Unlike those intended for fairs and exhibitions, seminars and other receptions, which are necessarily short-term, the materials and products provided to theatres are generally made to last. For these latter activities, the company has developed CTN Recycling. This is an ecological approach thanks to which certain carpets and the different types of brushed cotton and vinyl flooring are recovered and recycled. CTN makes available to its customers the tools necessary for this recovery of raw materials "at the end of their life". The company even provides these customers with a recovery certificate, which proves that the process of recycling the recovered raw materials has been completed. A certificate that guarantees that the brushed cotton has been integrated into insulation panels; that the carpet has been transformed into PP plastic objects.
